The KuciNIC Family

John Kucinic originally began the legacy. He was the owner and sole proprietor of Commerce Auto Body. The Logo of Commerce Auto Body used the same "Nut" C that is in the logo of Lake City Truck Repair, which was chosen to honor his memory. John Kucinic had three children, one of which was his youngest son- Dave Kucinic. John tragically died at the age of 58, and Dave Kucinic was left in control of his business.

Dave Kucinic turned Commerce Auto Body into North Coast Auto Body, where he spent many years performing Medium/Heavy Duty repair. North Coast Auto Body not only had contracts with the city, but it also had truck leasing services. The business went for many years, until Dave Kucinic decided to end it in the mid 90's. From there, Dave worked in some of the largest shops in the City. He was often was promoted to service manager within a year. Many of our family members have made jokes that if a 747 crashed in our back yard, Dave would find a way to fix it. Dave has worked on all manner of machinery- from heavy duty construction equipment, to manufacturing equipment. Above all, Dave is a master dump truck mechanic, and has done every available aftermarket modification that has been presented to him.

David's eldest son Jacob, followed his footsteps, working at his shops in the summer. Jacob originally went into to school to earn an IT Technical degree, and became Comptia+ and Microsoft Certified IT technician. However, when entering the job field, Jacob soon realized that the field was very competitive, and the pay was sub-par compared to pay of an average diesel mechanic. Jacob continued to work with his father for years. As technology advanced, Jacob began to take up the challenge to become familiar with vehicle electronic controls, and the new emerging emission systems as they were introduced. His IT background helped him learn very quickly. Jacob realized, by staying ahead of the learning curve on technology, he would have a competitive edge to other technicians in the industry. Not to mention that it complemented his father's immense fabricating skills.

David and Jacob became a mechanic duo which has lasted for almost two decades. Their last and final employer made them many promises, including partnership. However, they eventually found he had financial troubles unrelated to his business. It was then Jacob finally convinced David to begin their own shop again, after being tired of not having the needed resources required to perform their jobs. It was only a matter of time that a space became available, and Jacob began the process of starting Lake City Truck Repair as its CEO.

As the business began, it became clear that Jacob became overwhelmed with both the administrative and production ends of the business- finding it hard to do both. It was then that David's other son Cody Kucinic was recruited onto the team.

Cody Kucinic has been in and out of the diesel repair industry. Prior to coming onto the family team- he managed a reputable cell phone repair shop. Even though he did not work on vehicles- he was still carrying the Kucinic legacy of being in the repair industry. He skills as a Medium and Heavy Duty diesel technician has grown immensely, as he has risen to the challenges that the family has faced growing their business. Cody is now the acting shop foreman.

David Kucinic's wife, Shelia prior to starting a family, did book keeping for a reputable accounting firm. As Jacob built the administrative systems that manage the business- He has placed the management and control of these systems to Sheila Kucinic, now acting as both Office Manager and corporate CFO.
